Pandemic and Business Impact: The COVID-19 pandemic, instability in international shipping prices, a decline in tourism in Costa Rica, and government restrictions forced us to make a difficult but necessary decision: to temporarily halt our operations. It was a challenging period marked by uncertainty and significant changes in our lives and the business world. However, in Costa Rica, “Pura Vida” is more than a phrase; it’s a way of life.

Comeback Stronger: That philosophy has allowed us to come back, renewed and stronger than ever, on February 1st this year. Today, we celebrate our 9th year of existence and are ready to face whatever comes with energy and optimism!

After over a year’s pause, we’ve used this time to reflect, reinvent ourselves, and reaffirm our commitment to Costa Rica, its culture, and its people. About our pause during 2023.

Our pause during 2023 was not only a period of renewal but also a testament to the strength and determination that characterize Paradise Products Costa Rica and the Ticos in general. As we faced the challenges of the pandemic and adverse circumstances, we learned valuable lessons that have prepared us to tackle new obstacles with confidence.

Strength in Adversity: Overcoming a year on pause was not an easy task, but we did it with a resilient mindset. We faced uncertainty with courage and demonstrated that our passion for sharing Costa Rican treasures with the world is unbreakable.

Learning and Growth: During this time, we have learned to adapt, to be more flexible, and to seek creative solutions1. We have perfected our operations, improved our communication, and strengthened our relationships with suppliers and collaborators.

Ready for New Challenges: Each difficulty we faced has prepared us for the future. We are aware that the business world is constantly changing, and we are ready to face new challenges with the same resolution that has brought us here.

During our hiatus, we have not been idle. Instead, we have taken the opportunity to renew and strengthen ourselves in every possible way. We have invested time and effort in improving our operations and services to offer you an even more exceptional experience.

New Alliances: We have forged new alliances with local suppliers in Costa Rica, ensuring that our products are of the highest quality and that we continue to support local communities. We have also increased the number and quality of our business alliances, creating a strong collaborative ecosystem that is bringing our original vision ever closer to fulfillment.

Enhanced Shopping Experience: We have redesigned our online store to make it more intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring that your shopping experience is more enjoyable and convenient than ever before. Now our suppliers can view their sales, funds and payment dates. We have enabled PayPal for real-time deferred payments and are working to be able to make real-time payments to our suppliers’ Costa Rican bank accounts as well.

Greater Variety of Products: We have expanded our range of Costa Rican products to give you even more options to choose from and enjoy. We have made it much easier and more democratic to register for our store.

More Control for Suppliers: Paradise Products Costa Rica is now a Marketplace that gives suppliers an account with full control of their store, where they can manage their prices, promotions, inventory and even shipping costs independently if they wish.

And for those who cannot or do not want to do so, the renewed Paradise Products Costa Rica team will continue to maintain close communication to coordinate their promotions and changes for them.

Improved Customer Service: With the help of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence, we have created an exceptional virtual assistant capable of answering and covering basic queries 24/7 and capable of passing more complex queries to our customer service team.
